Rightclick on your own character ingame and select "remove all roles". Then wait 24 hours and leave.

What i find very very annoying is that u cant set standings to an entire alliance. Corp --> Alliance. You have to alter standings to each and every corporation in alliance. And u constantly have to check for changes in case new ones have joined...
